Coventry Woods Park consists of 688 beautiful acres of mostly mature deciduous forest and is located in rural western North Coventry Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. Whether your interests lie in fitness, relaxation, or nature study, Coventry Woods offers opportunities for recreation and health. The park is open from 7 am until sunset.
The park offers trails, pavilions, wilderness hiking through mature forest, and quality wildlife watching. With 5 trails and 6 access points, there is plenty to see in this area which is rich in history and natural lands. Bicyclists are welcome on the trails; however, in order to protect the natural habitat biking “events” are not permitted.
A Porta Potty is available year round at the Fernbrook Access to the park. Canine companions are welcome; however, they must be on a leash of not more than 6 feet in length and you must pick up after them.
A large pavilion along the Fernbrook Lane trail is available for you to rent. The pavilion offers grills, and electric service is available when renting the pavilion. There is no potable water in the park so please come prepared.
The Township does not allow general camping in this park and fires are prohibited in undesignated areas. We do allow qualified organized group tenting in the park (a Special Activity Agreement must be submitted and insurance provided.) An example would be: scout troops who do service projects within the park system. Please feel free to contact us for more information and approval.
We also welcome and encourage running clubs to host trail run events at Coventry Woods!
Pavilion rental forms may be submitted at the township office, by mail, or electronically. A Special Activities agreement must be submitted for large events. Feel free to contact the township office by calling 610-323-1694 or by email for availability information.
As always, we expect you to leave the park in the condition in which you entered it. All of our parks have a “Pack It In, Pack It Out” policy, which means there are no trash receptacles and you must take your trash out with you. We believe taking pride in parks by taking out what you bring in, will go much farther in maintaining its beauty and cleanliness. For large events this means being prepared to pick up after your spectators and participants.
The Township invites you to join them at their annual Coventry Woods events:
The Coventry Woods Festival in spring – This free family festival is designed to recognize and celebrate North Coventry Township as a healthy community with healthy lands. The event will include food vendors, music, community displays, games, and the annual running of the Fernbrook Derby Goat Race.
Coventry Woods Bonfire in fall – A bonfire with music, food vendors, kids’ games and night hikes are a part of this family oriented fall evening. A $5 vehicle parking donation is requested.
Check the Township website for exact dates and times!!
We hope to see you at Coventry Woods!
