Board Approves Replacement Bleachers for Riverbend Park

At the April 14th Board of Supervisors Meeting, the Board approved the purchase of new replacement bleachers for Riverbend Park.

As reported by Township Manager Erica Batdorf, the existing bleachers at Riverbend Park have reached the end of their useful life and now require replacement to ensure public safety. The Township has secured a quote for four new aluminum bleachers from Uline, a COSTARS-approved vendor, at a total cost of $8,880.00.

The new bleachers will feature three rows and a seating capacity of 30—similar in design to those currently in place at Kenilworth Park. In researching replacement options, Township staff found Uline’s pricing to be consistent with other suppliers, and the company has demonstrated reliable and responsive service in past transactions.

This upgrade was recommended by the Township’s Parks and Recreation Commission as part of their ongoing commitment to improving recreational facilities. The project was anticipated and included in the Township’s 2025 budget.

What is COSTARS?

COSTARS is the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s cooperative purchasing program managed by the Department of General Services. It enables local governments, school districts, and other eligible entities to purchase goods and services from pre-approved vendors at competitive prices, without the need for a separate bidding process. By using COSTARS, municipalities like ours can streamline procurement, ensure compliance, and save taxpayer dollars.

The Township appreciates the community’s continued support as we work to maintain and enhance our public spaces.
