North Coventry Township Approves $25,000 Allocation to Coventry Food Pantry for COVID-19 Relief Efforts
North Coventry Township is pleased to announce the approval of Resolution No. 09-2023, which allocates $25,000 of American Recovery Act funds to the Coventry Food Pantry. This decision was made in recognition of the outstanding efforts of the organization to provide essential food and supplies to individuals and families in our local community, particularly in light of the increased demand caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Founded in 1973, the Coventry Food Pantry has a long history of providing critical resources to residents in need in the Owen J. Roberts School District. Throughout the pandemic, the organization has continued to meet the challenge of providing food and household supplies to those in need, implementing measures to ensure the safety of staff and volunteers while continuing to distribute essential resources to the community.
The allocation of $25,000 in unrestricted funding will help support the ongoing operations of the Coventry Food Pantry, ensuring that it can continue to provide essential resources to North Coventry Township and its surrounding neighbors. This allocation is an eligible use of the Federal Funding and furthers the goals and objectives of North Coventry Township in ensuring the provision of critical resources to our community.
The approval of Resolution No. 09-2023 was made unanimously by the Board of Supervisors, and the Township is proud to support the efforts of the Coventry Food Pantry in addressing the negative impact of COVID-19 on the safety, health, and welfare of individuals and their families in our local community.
